LOVE my new Earrings!!!

I am LOVING my new Kendra Scott earrings! Stella comes in other colors; I especially like the turquoise ones too!

20130524-080031.jpg These earrings would also go great with a summer vacation wardrobe, like this one I wore last summer… If you’re taking a tropical trip, THESE earrings have to be in your wardrobe!

Looks I Wore Over The Weekend

My incredible boss and mentor at the studio turned 70, and it was a JOY to celebrate her. One of her fave color combos is pale pink and black. Here’s the look from Saturday that I wore to her party:

The hubs and I had a date night over the weekend (lucky me!)… I sported this moto jacket á la Janet Jackson, with super fun pants and shoes.

Pinterest Pick of the Week 5

Pinterest Pick of the Week 5

Hello again readers! Ready for your Weekly Pinterest Pick?

This week’s pick was inspired by a guest that my family is housing for a while as he is visiting our sister, Kara. His name is Alex Ross and he is originally from England, but is currently residing in New York. While visiting us, we got talking about the fashion world and all the amazing designers and we got onto the topic of Christian Louboutin Shoes. Now I don’t know about all of you, but if I was able to chose any shoe to own I would chose these shoes hands down.

Look at how beautiful they are in all of their perfection. I chose the classic black stiletto with the red sole because I find that to be the signature Louboutin shoe. These shoes are timeless and without a doubt will remain in style for more than a life time. And if you recall, (or are a total movie lover like me) Sandra Bullock wore a pair of stunning Louboutin shoes in the movie The Proposal with Ryan Reynolds. Loved that movie, and also her shoes!

Let us know who your favorite designer is! And for more fashion finds or outfit inspirations go follow us on Pinterest!

Till next time Fashionistas!

Summer Wedge Sandal!

20130519-223809.jpg This gorgeous wedge sandal (featured above in the neutral multi color) is PERFECT for summer.

Goes With: Everything from your coverup mini at the beach to a pair of skinny jeans. I would wear it with shorts, skirt, dress, and more. You can easily slip these on all season, and look like a shoe diva! The faux snake skin leather foot strap gives it an extra punch of glam.

COMFORT: I wore them the other day with a 1940’s style casual skater dress. Walked around all day…no discomfort. Love them! Found at Steve Madden stores, Steve Madden online and Nordstrom, these shoes are the perfect summer staple.

What shoes are you hoping for this summer? Find any fab ones lately?

Essie Summer 2013

Essie is selling their Summer 2013 collection now, and I LOVE it! My fave color is this featured one in their add “Naughty Nautical.” It is so fun and vibrant for summertime! Which is your favorite?

Get Your “Wavy Curls” Today!

20130515-173610.jpg My hair is naturally curly (a beachy easy type of curly), but here I styled it wavy/big curls. This look is so easy, fast, and lasts for a couple days.

I use the 1.5″ piece on this AMAZING Herstyler 3p curling wand. Seriously it’s the best curling wand (not to be confused with curling irons, but that’s another story)! It’s the same brand as a lot of those $200 mall kiosk wands, but sold at approximately $40-$50 on amazon.com. I never go on a vacation without it because its a super fast way to get salon style!

20130515-175249.jpg How To: I hold my hair in 1″-2″ sections, wrapped around the barrel for 8 fast seconds. You’ll have to experiment how long is good for you- we all have different hair! Be careful, if you hold it too tightly or too long, the curls will be too tight like Prom Hair circa 2003. Really important: I always use a flat iron to quickly straiten the very most front pieces of hair, and the roots by the edge of my face (don’t straiten the ends just the first few inches from the root to mid-section), because “curly bangs” aren’t cute with this hair style.

If I style my hair like this starting from straitened hair, I get more sleek, polished looking waves. If I do this starting with my naturally curly hair, I get large, very voluminous hair. I enjoy both looks, just depends on what look I’m going for.

Gorgeous celebs rocking this exact hair style (Take Note! These leading ladies’ hair stylists also do the straiten-the-few-inches-of-hair-around-the-face move! It’s important!):

Dance Studio Fashion

Laura and I not only write the blog together, but we both coach dance too! Yes, both! Dance isn’t just about the art and athleticism. Another huge component: the culture. There is a full force culture in terms of style, fashion, and all-around presentation in the dance world. This goes for choreography, costuming and of course rehearsal clothing. In class I need to be able to move in whatever I’m wearing (obvi), and keep cool. The outfit HAS to be functional above all else. Here’s yesterday’s look in lyrical hip hop class.

What do you do for exercise? And where do you buy your work out clothes? I want to know!

Mother’s Day!

I LOVE celebrating family! Naturally, Mother’s Day was so much fun. I wore this, and I almost DON’T want to tell you where my dress is from! It is so well-tailored (the pleating is so good), and material feels so luxurious- you’d believe it was strait off the Bloomingdales floor. However, I love helping all of you get fabulous fashions for less…so here is the info!

Pinterest Pick of the Week 4

Pinterest Pick of the Week 4

Hi readers! How are we loving this heat?

Todays pick of the week is the trending patterned maxi skirt. I have to say I am totally in love with this look! these skirts are so cute and stylish and the best part is that it basically makes the outfit. All you need is a plain tee or tank and then your outfit is all set and done. Because of that reason it is definitely a must have for every girl’s closet because it easily makes a cute, trendy outfit for the warm, summery days (not to mention they are adorable).

I chose this maxi skirt in particular to because it is different from the typical chevron or tribal maxi skirt that you usually see (don’t get me wrong, I LOVE those too). The skirt is a geometric flower print on navy blue which is paired with a plain white tank. I also love how in the pin there is a pop of color with the coral necklace. A necklace or a belt can help dress up this super easy look.

To see more of our pins, or more patterned maxi skirts, go follow us on Pinterest!

Till next time fashionistas!

P.S. Fun fact about me. I am OBSESSED with bows! I think they are so adorable and if I could get away with it I would probably where a bow in my hair every day (but instead I wear the adorable and dainty bow necklace from Tiffany’s every day; probably my favorite piece of jewelry I have ever owned). So while pinning today I came across this pin and it is just too fantastic not to share. So here is a pin of a bunch of super cute hair bows that if I could, I would own every single one.

Hostess with the Mostest!!

Are you hosting Mother’s Day at your house? Mom is the PERFECT reason to dress up. It’s not about wearing the fanciest, most expensive clothes… it’s about honoring your mama and showing how much you care by taking the time to look fab FOR her! Here’s a little hostess outfit inspiration. (This is what I wore hosting both mine and my husband’s families over for Easter lunch.)

20130511-233506.jpg Above: SHIRT: Wet Seal, plum shoulder puff shirt // SKIRT: Abercrombie & Fitch, grey lace multi-layer skirt // HALF APRON: etsy.com, plum paisley. I paired this with a cute pair of sandal wedges, and accessories with diamond stud earrings (timeless).

Table setting ideas? Here are a few pics of how I had set up Easter at our home:

20130511-233742.jpg

Even if you’re not having mom over (maybe you’re going out to celebrate, or visiting other relatives), it’s still a great idea to show your love and admiration by looking nice. What are your Mother’s Day plans, and of course I also want to know: What will you be wearing? To our most fashionable mom, I love you!!

Cold Shoulder Blouse // Day to Night

This is the first cold-shoulder top I’ve ever worn, and I can’t believe it’s taken me so long to try!!!! (If you know me, you know I love any style that shows off the shoulders.)

20130512-000459.jpgI had a full day at the studio, running hip hop dance team auditions (SO much fun). I had to jet home and QUICKLY freshen up for a night out. As soon as my husband said it was a hot outfit, I knew all I had to do was throw up the hair, change the earrings and switch to heels. BA-BAM!

20130509-130132.jpg The emerald green teardrop earrings are from Francesca’s; they are sold in various colors.

Looking for a fun way to vamp up the wardrobe without breaking the bank? Grab a fun chiffon too from Forever 21, like I did here, and you’ll be feeling fab! What are some of your night outfits that you’ve been rockin’ lately?

Met Gala 2013: Top 3

20130507-075933.jpg The 2013 Met Gala was a feeding frenzy for fashion-lovers!!! The punk theme is awesome, but clearly my pics for top 3 best dressed of the night are ultra feminine with accents of edge.

1. BEST DRESSED: No surprise that it’s the one and only Blake Lively!!! Gorgeous, newlywed and stunning in her Gucci Première Gown. She is the face of the brand’s fragrance, so it makes sense that she wore the Italian designer. The skirt is made of all leather and organza. Lorraine Schwartz jewels.

2. Rooney Mara’s gown is more feminine than usual (she is usually structured, edgy, and a little punk) so this look is a winner for her!! You can’t go wrong when Givenchy Haute Couture rolls out a custom made gown for you, right? I LOVE the shoulder lace detailing, and the zipper down the front.

3. Jessica Alba looks STUNNING in this Tory Burch gown, which was designed specifically for her. You can’t tell in the pic, but the reason this made top 3 (besides her obvious radiance) is the amazing detail. It is ALL laser-cut leather. The ab cutouts are great, and her Christian Louboutin spiked clutch isn’t to be messed with!

I’m sure you had your own favorites last night! Who is your pick for best dressed? I can’t wait to watch the Fashion Police Met Gala special to see who their favorites were.

Pinterest Pick of the Week 3

Pinterest Pick of the Week 3

Hello again Lovely Readers!

Do we know what is coming up for all the young ones in high school?! PROM SEASON!! So in honor of those girls stressing to find the perfect dress for the night they have been waiting for their whole lives, I have chosen a drop dead gorgeous gown as my Pinterest Pick for this week.

The gown is from the 2008 Spring Collection from Reem Acra, and even though its an “oldie” in the fashion world, it is still beautiful! The long, flowing skirt adds an angelic elegance the the dress and with the scrunched bodess gives it more of a modern fashion feel. And although I am not one for sleeves and a floor length gown, the beaded cap sleeves on this dress make the down look more elegant and sophisticated.

This dress was seen worn by Olivia Wilde at the 60th Primetime Emmy Awards and won Best of 2008 Red Carpet Gowns! Now I believe that award speaks for itself and verifies how gorgeous this dress is.

Now I dont know about you, but I would have loved to wear a dress like this to my Prom, but it is most likely out of my budget. Nevertheless, it is still a beautiful dress to look at! To check out other formal gowns and even everyday styles follow us on Pinterest and check in for the weekly Pinterest Pick of the Week!

Dance Team Awards Banquet!!!

20130502-195749.jpg

20130502-195803.jpg I wanted to share this glam look with you from the annual dance team awards banquet, held for the competitive teams I coach. So fun to see everyone dressed up!!! Featured in a photo with me, above right, is one of my Senior Team Dancers, Rachel. She’s wearing a beautiful dress by Kirra, sold at PacSun. (Thanks for the pic, Rach!) Such a great night. Congrats to all my ladies!!!!! We ROCKED this entire season!!! Title-holding-champions! Go Capistrano Dance!!!

Recent Finds I Love!

20130502-074157.jpg I needed some new lip color and gloss, but didn’t want to spend the $14-$30++ at the mall (even though that’s where my favorite brands are). So I tried these, which were $5.99/each at Target! Revlon Lip Butter in Stawberry Shortcake, and L’Loreal Colour Riche lip gloss in Nude Touch. I love both!!!!! The butter goes on like a super silky lip balm, and has vibrant color too. The gloss is FABULOUS!!!! Not sticky at all, it’s light-weight and goes on smooth. It looks *almost* as lustrous as my Christian Dior Addict Lip Gloss. (For literally 1/6 of the price, almost as lustrous is more than enough for me!!!) I like both products a lot, but if I had to recommend only one for you to try first I’d start with the gloss. Add it to whatever you’re already wearing, OR wear it alone. Looks great either way! An instant look-lift.

Also found these rad, ultra delicate silver hoops at Francesca’s! They are the perfect add on to my Nike-errand-running-outfit.

20130502-081435.jpgSuch a steal at $9.00, compared to the nearly identical ones I saw at Nordy’s for $45.00. Every girl needs a basic hoop in her jewelry armoir! These are so lightweight and dainty, they just peek through my hair. Love them!!!! Don’t have a Francesca’s near you? Shop online HERE. They have the best on-trend accessories at good prices.

Featured in the Orange County Register, April 30

20130501-073312.jpg This article ran in the Orange County Register about the Kendra Scott store in Newport Beach. My picture and interview was in it!!!!

The article quoted me several times, and also stated “(Sara) has become an expert … at spotting necklaces or earrings on stars such as Sofía Vergara or Hilary Duff.” -Magda Liszewska, OC Register

BIGGEST shout out to my husband- thanks for getting up early and getting the paper with me before work; you made me feel so supported and happy!!! Special thanks to my gorgeous Mother In Law for waking me up, sending these pics and being so happy for me!!! Best wake up call ever.
