I’m excited to share this with you! My make up for a dance photo shoot at work:
Here’s what I wore on Father’s Day. Its SO comfortable, and I love the pop of color.
Best part: the ENTIRE outfit is less than $22.00!!! Most people pay more than that just for a shirt. SKIRT: Forever 21, $7.00 // TANK: $5.00 at one of those trends for less places // NECKLACE: amazon.com, $10.00.
You might recognize the skirt from another post. It’s versatile!
It’s time for another Celeb Look for Less!!! Time to match up with my fave Chicago Bears wife and shoe designer, Kristin Cavallari! For this look I used things that I already have in my closet- So you see how fun and easy it is to remix your wardrobe without shopping or breaking the bank!
She’s rocking her blazer, skinnies, and Louis Vuitton Classic Speedy Bag. I added the shades and pendant necklace. Details on my look: BOYFRIEND BLAZER: H&M London (about $20), SHIRT: Victoria’s Secret PINK (about $12), JEANS: William Rast by Justin Timberlake ($30), SHOES: Jessica Simpson (and they are SO comfortable, $30), GLASSES: SALT. optics, NECKLACE: Max & Chloe, RING: Kendra Scott, Cora Ring in Ivory.

Here are some of my new, favorite finds!!!
Favorite Skin-Toned Polish…
LOVING this plum-toned polish!
Best Cocktail/Every Day Ring…
I LOVE THIS RING!!!! Kendra does it again- GORGEOUS!!!! Totally light-weight and durable too. This matches every outfit, and I get compliments on it all the time. This is a must-have jewelry staple for your wardrobe. I usually wear it on my fourth finger, but had it on my index just for the photo.
What are some of your new, favorite things?
I had the honor of meeting jewelry designer Miranda Frye at her beautiful studio- not only is her studio beautiful but she is too!!! I wanted to post a couple pics of her jewels, but that won’t do it justice- so you get lots of fun details in this post!
Meeting her for the first time:
Those unique necklaces at the top left are her poker chip designs. Aren’t they gorge?! On the bottom right are a few of her long necklaces- (L to R: Bar of Gold Necklace, Tablet Necklace, Solar Necklace, Crescent Necklace.) These are PERFECT for LAYERING!!! You can get yours at mirandafrye.com. She’s got great branding and packaging. (I added the shells, but you get the idea.)
What I like about Miranda’s Jewelry…
There’s no shortage of beautiful jewelry out there, but as with all designers I feature, I look for a unique, distinguishing and FABULOUS quality –
1. Miranda Frye Jewelry is LITERALLY featherweight. It is so lightweight, sometimes I check myself to make sure it’s still on! In a world of heavy jewelry, this is a life-saver!
2. ***MOMS WITH SMALL CHILDREN, THIS IS FOR YOU!!!!*** All of her necklaces don’t just have a regular flimsy clasp, there are tiny HAND-WRAPPED wires keeping the pieces fiercely bound to each other. This means kids can yank on them without having your necklace break!! See a close-up of what I’m taking about here:
Celebrity Look for Less!!!!
These gorgeous celebs are all wearing dainty necklaces, and modern bohemian earrings. Their pieces cost up to $1,500.00. You can get all similar looks on Miranda Frye’s website for a lot less than these celebs’ price points!!!
I wasn’t even out of my pajamas yesterday, when I got the call for a great meeting … To be there in 45 minutes (that meant leaving the house ASAP). Needless to say there was no time for the regular routine. What to do in that situation? A maxi skirt and hat can work wonders!!! Looks like you put care and effort into your appearance, and it’s fab. My Kendra Scott “Cora” ring completed the whole look. Something about a great cocktail ring makes your ensemble look put together.
I usually wear my Cora ring on my fourth finger, right hand, but here’s a pic on the index just so you can see how it looks on. This ring seriously matches EVERY outfit!!!! Whether its running errands in jeans and a tee, to a black tie event- this is a MUST-HAVE in my jewelry arsenal.
My husband and I went to one of the most fun weddings I’ve ever been to. The bride wore a strapless fit and flare gown with beautiful lace and beaded detailing along the ivory dress. The ceremony, reception, cake, decorations, music, and everything in between were all perfect! This is what I wore:
The days of “no black” to a wedding are over! Long gone! Black is super chic and respectful. I had the honor of saying the blessing over the meal at the reception, so I wanted to be especially apropos for the occasion.
A closer look at my accessories and make up…
Recently I did a post on wavy curls. I showed you a pic that I did starting with strait hair and then curling it. Here I started with my hair naturally curly and added the vavavoom with the hair tool I showed you in THIS blog post. Check it out!!! Here’s the final result:
Any product with a “*” next to it means sometimes I skip this one.
First- foundation. Keep it light weight! Here are 2 options. The Bobbi Brown I wear on the regular- it has SPF and looks like a second skin. The glo minerals I wear if I know I’ll be taking any photos because it never flashes white in pictures! Love it.
I’m obsessed with this angled brush by Sonia Kashuk; it’s from Target!!! I didn’t post a pic of my highlighter because I’m using one that I’m not crazy about. When I find one I LOVE I’ll let you know! Any suggestions???
Eyes are my favorite part!!! I’m crazy about my brows and lashes. If you know me, you know that mascara is my #1 favorite make up product! I firmly believe that, just like denim jeans, every woman has a different brand of mascara that is best for her. I’ve used every mascara under the sun (seriously I think I have), and these are my summer favorites of all time. I use the liner to do a very discreet, but precise line. The paint pot is used under the liner to make it stay all day. Remember this is all-natural, so no eyeshadow.
Keep the lips beautiful! Do minimal work for the eyes and lips because that is what gives the easy, lovely summertime look. I have an unreal quantity of lip gloss colors. These are my top 3 in order of favorites.
While scrolling through the Pinterest feeds I came across this pin and thought ti was so neat! It is a description of “The History of the Little Black Dress”. It shows how the term “Little Black Dress” has been used for ages among women for the classic black dress that everyone searches for, but the idea of what is considered classic has changed over time.
This pin really shows how fashion goes through phases and will go in and out of a style. You see the little back dress go from simple and sophisticated to eccentric and loud and back to simple again. People always say that thing will come back into style and I actually think that is the case when it comes to fashion.
I think my favorite version of the little black dress would have to be the 1960’s with the Audrey Hepburn little black dress. It is so simple but absolutely classy, elegant, and beautiful. The pin even states how the 60’s reflected some of the 1920s style (which if you remember I am completely obsessed with).
