Today I wore this quilted white leather jacket, black top, army green pants and heels. The weather was finally cool enough to wear this glam jacket; I like the zipper pocket details and wrist buttons. I accessorized with the “J Crew Venus Flytrap Necklace.” Hope this gives you an idea for your next casual, fun outfit!
“Dress in layers because the weather can change at any moment!” That’s what everyone told me before my trip to Alaska. Prep for rain, snow, cold, hot; you get the idea. These are the layers I wore in Icy Strait Point, Alaska. Even though there was super light rain, I wasn’t cold at all. This outfit was perfectly functional! My boots were just right for all the terrain we covered too! It was a really fun day!!
We had an amazing 5 mile hike in Icy Strait Point. My husband took this photo of me among the trees.
Anchorage had far less rain and mud, plus it was a little warmer! So I changed up the outfit with different pants, hiking shoes and dropped the scarf. It was great for another 5 mile hike! BELOW: JEANS Abercrombie & Fitch, boot cut vintage wash // HIKING SHOES: The North Face.
Woohoo! Back from an amazing trip, and feeling refreshed! Let’s talk fashion!
There’s no reason you have to look shabby running errands! Don’t get me wrong, I wear gym clothes to run around, get groceries, and make that last-minute run to Home Goods for a picture frame that I “need” 😉 …but for the days you’re not coming from a work out, keep it fresh with a super easy outfit. I wore this while getting some things done for our vacation.
Stay fresh, joyful and positive! There’s much to be grateful for in this life.
Emerald is the color of the year, and I am LOVING it!!! After a week of photo shoots, dress rehearsals and 4 amazing shows, this is what I wore on stage for our finale.
This photo was taken late at night after the event, but I still had to share it with you! Details: DRESS: Arden B // HEELS: Enzo Angiolini (looks identical to the Jimmy Choo’s, for a much different price tag).
Close up of my eye make up, before the show:
Here’s what I wore on Father’s Day. Its SO comfortable, and I love the pop of color.
Best part: the ENTIRE outfit is less than $22.00!!! Most people pay more than that just for a shirt. SKIRT: Forever 21, $7.00 // TANK: $5.00 at one of those trends for less places // NECKLACE: amazon.com, $10.00.
You might recognize the skirt from another post. It’s versatile!
It’s time for another Celeb Look for Less!!! Time to match up with my fave Chicago Bears wife and shoe designer, Kristin Cavallari! For this look I used things that I already have in my closet- So you see how fun and easy it is to remix your wardrobe without shopping or breaking the bank!
She’s rocking her blazer, skinnies, and Louis Vuitton Classic Speedy Bag. I added the shades and pendant necklace. Details on my look: BOYFRIEND BLAZER: H&M London (about $20), SHIRT: Victoria’s Secret PINK (about $12), JEANS: William Rast by Justin Timberlake ($30), SHOES: Jessica Simpson (and they are SO comfortable, $30), GLASSES: SALT. optics, NECKLACE: Max & Chloe, RING: Kendra Scott, Cora Ring in Ivory.

Here are some of my new, favorite finds!!!
Favorite Skin-Toned Polish…
LOVING this plum-toned polish!
Best Cocktail/Every Day Ring…
I LOVE THIS RING!!!! Kendra does it again- GORGEOUS!!!! Totally light-weight and durable too. This matches every outfit, and I get compliments on it all the time. This is a must-have jewelry staple for your wardrobe. I usually wear it on my fourth finger, but had it on my index just for the photo.
What are some of your new, favorite things?
I had the honor of meeting jewelry designer Miranda Frye at her beautiful studio- not only is her studio beautiful but she is too!!! I wanted to post a couple pics of her jewels, but that won’t do it justice- so you get lots of fun details in this post!
Meeting her for the first time:
Those unique necklaces at the top left are her poker chip designs. Aren’t they gorge?! On the bottom right are a few of her long necklaces- (L to R: Bar of Gold Necklace, Tablet Necklace, Solar Necklace, Crescent Necklace.) These are PERFECT for LAYERING!!! You can get yours at mirandafrye.com. She’s got great branding and packaging. (I added the shells, but you get the idea.)
What I like about Miranda’s Jewelry…
There’s no shortage of beautiful jewelry out there, but as with all designers I feature, I look for a unique, distinguishing and FABULOUS quality –
1. Miranda Frye Jewelry is LITERALLY featherweight. It is so lightweight, sometimes I check myself to make sure it’s still on! In a world of heavy jewelry, this is a life-saver!
2. ***MOMS WITH SMALL CHILDREN, THIS IS FOR YOU!!!!*** All of her necklaces don’t just have a regular flimsy clasp, there are tiny HAND-WRAPPED wires keeping the pieces fiercely bound to each other. This means kids can yank on them without having your necklace break!! See a close-up of what I’m taking about here:
Celebrity Look for Less!!!!
These gorgeous celebs are all wearing dainty necklaces, and modern bohemian earrings. Their pieces cost up to $1,500.00. You can get all similar looks on Miranda Frye’s website for a lot less than these celebs’ price points!!!
I wasn’t even out of my pajamas yesterday, when I got the call for a great meeting … To be there in 45 minutes (that meant leaving the house ASAP). Needless to say there was no time for the regular routine. What to do in that situation? A maxi skirt and hat can work wonders!!! Looks like you put care and effort into your appearance, and it’s fab. My Kendra Scott “Cora” ring completed the whole look. Something about a great cocktail ring makes your ensemble look put together.
I usually wear my Cora ring on my fourth finger, right hand, but here’s a pic on the index just so you can see how it looks on. This ring seriously matches EVERY outfit!!!! Whether its running errands in jeans and a tee, to a black tie event- this is a MUST-HAVE in my jewelry arsenal.
My husband and I went to one of the most fun weddings I’ve ever been to. The bride wore a strapless fit and flare gown with beautiful lace and beaded detailing along the ivory dress. The ceremony, reception, cake, decorations, music, and everything in between were all perfect! This is what I wore:
The days of “no black” to a wedding are over! Long gone! Black is super chic and respectful. I had the honor of saying the blessing over the meal at the reception, so I wanted to be especially apropos for the occasion.
A closer look at my accessories and make up…
My incredible boss and mentor at the studio turned 70, and it was a JOY to celebrate her. One of her fave color combos is pale pink and black. Here’s the look from Saturday that I wore to her party:
The Enzo shoes I’ve wanted for a long time, and finally got them on sale at Haute Look! If you have other types of weekend outfits you want to see put together let us know; we’ve been LOVING your questions and fashion requests!!!!!
Goes With: Everything from your coverup mini at the beach to a pair of skinny jeans. I would wear it with shorts, skirt, dress, and more. You can easily slip these on all season, and look like a shoe diva! The faux snake skin leather foot strap gives it an extra punch of glam.
COMFORT: I wore them the other day with a 1940’s style casual skater dress. Walked around all day…no discomfort. Love them! Found at Steve Madden stores, Steve Madden online and Nordstrom, these shoes are the perfect summer staple.
What shoes are you hoping for this summer? Find any fab ones lately?
I LOVE celebrating family! Naturally, Mother’s Day was so much fun. I wore this, and I almost DON’T want to tell you where my dress is from! It is so well-tailored (the pleating is so good), and material feels so luxurious- you’d believe it was strait off the Bloomingdales floor. However, I love helping all of you get fabulous fashions for less…so here is the info!
Are you hosting Mother’s Day at your house? Mom is the PERFECT reason to dress up. It’s not about wearing the fanciest, most expensive clothes… it’s about honoring your mama and showing how much you care by taking the time to look fab FOR her! Here’s a little hostess outfit inspiration. (This is what I wore hosting both mine and my husband’s families over for Easter lunch.)
Above: SHIRT: Wet Seal, plum shoulder puff shirt // SKIRT: Abercrombie & Fitch, grey lace multi-layer skirt // HALF APRON: etsy.com, plum paisley. I paired this with a cute pair of sandal wedges, and accessories with diamond stud earrings (timeless).
Table setting ideas? Here are a few pics of how I had set up Easter at our home:
Even if you’re not having mom over (maybe you’re going out to celebrate, or visiting other relatives), it’s still a great idea to show your love and admiration by looking nice. What are your Mother’s Day plans, and of course I also want to know: What will you be wearing? To our most fashionable mom, I love you!!
This is the first cold-shoulder top I’ve ever worn, and I can’t believe it’s taken me so long to try!!!! (If you know me, you know I love any style that shows off the shoulders.)
I had a full day at the studio, running hip hop dance team auditions (SO much fun). I had to jet home and QUICKLY freshen up for a night out. As soon as my husband said it was a hot outfit, I knew all I had to do was throw up the hair, change the earrings and switch to heels. BA-BAM!
Looking for a fun way to vamp up the wardrobe without breaking the bank? Grab a fun chiffon too from Forever 21, like I did here, and you’ll be feeling fab! What are some of your night outfits that you’ve been rockin’ lately?
Date Night with the amazing hubs! It was 90 degrees outside at 6pm; so hot!!! I chose this fun, easy, and cool outfit!
What are some of your fave things to wear on a date? If you’ve got one coming up, check out our other looks for some ideas!
The sunny weather hit, so the hubby and I went to a BBQ with friends (fun!!). For a casual BBQ in the backyard, keep it simple! I know not everyone feels “at home” in a romper, but I absolutely love this one from GUESS. If you’re not jumping for jumpers, try an easy maxi dress, tee shirt and shorts combo, or those ratty old cut offs you wore while painting the house last summer. Go with the vibe of the party… Casual neighborhood thing? Keep it that way! BBQ at the pool? Wear a swim suit and a bright coverup. You get it; this is so easy!
Hats are perfect because they protect your beautiful eyes from the sun (prevent those crows feet!!), and you don’t have to worry about your hair – fabulous! I get a lot of questions about this monogram necklace. It’s Nashelle, and they make FANTASTIC jewelry. Get yours in the “Build Your Own” section of the website. The photo (above right) is a close up of my actual necklace.
Wear your sunscreen too!
My husband and I went up to the mountains. It was sunny, but COLD!!! If you’re in the mountains, you can look chic, while maintaining great comfort and practicality. Put a warm vest over some flannel and jeans, and you’re there! Easy as 1, 2, 3. The key is not to wear tons of baggy clothes – you’ll lose any feminine shape, and look messy. For more chilling climates, I recommend the Columbia omni-tech 3 in 1 jackets. I LOVE them (countless features)! Columbia makes their jackets with a little extra length in the back; an invaluable quality in cold weather! I find competitors’ jackets to be cute in appearance, but lacking in overall versatility and length in comparison to the Columbia ones. (That’s just personal preference!)
I love being outdoors. What are your favorite wardrobe essentials to bring on your ski and snowboard trips? Keep warm, and don’t forget to bring warmer clothes for nighttime. Be smart about weather and attire!
Looking for a fresh take on an outfit for date night? I had fun with this look last week for my date (with my one and only hubby of course). If you’re going on a first date I always recommend a great LBD, there are ways to dress it up or down depending on where you’re going… Once time passes and you’re switching up the look, get fun with some new ideas. ALWAYS remember that the best look on a lady is joy and self-confidence, and your most fabulous accessories are your SMILE and sincerity.
What is your favorite date night outfit?
